Alexandra Walker

Originally from Bozeman, Montana, Mrs. Walker has been teaching music for over 8 years. She has operated a private piano and voice studio, taught with Utah Piano Conservatory, and completed a music education degree program with Brigham Young University in April 2021. She has studied with renowned concert pianist Azusa Komiyama, musical director for the Intermountain Opera Company Linda Curtis, Julliard professor Darrell Babidge, and Michele Broadbent Hatch at BYU. She has performed with Intermountain Opera Company in productions of Carmen, La Boheme, Hansel and Gretel, and Suor Angelica (la Novizie). The fabulous Rosiland Hall and Jean Appolonie served as her conducting mentors at BYU. She has been featured as a soloist with both the BYU Women’s chorus and BYU Concert choir. She has taught at a collegiate level during her time working as a teaching assistant for BYU’s University Chorale. She acted as the featured vocalist for the world renowned Jazz bands, BYU Synthesis and Jazz Legacy Band. Mrs. Walker has aided in overseeing educational musical tours through Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic, and has performed and taught professionally in Medie, Ghana. Most recently, she completed her student teaching at Provo High School under the direction of Kenny Wiser. Mrs. Walker loves teaching music and is excited to be a Viking!
